The Supreme Court of India has granted anticipatory bail to Malayalam actor Siddique in a rape case dating back to 2016. The case arose from allegations made by a young actress, claiming Siddique sexually assaulted her under the pretext of offering a film role. The court, while making its decision, considered the delay in filing the FIR, which was lodged only in 2024, nearly eight years after the alleged incident.
